What is the Missouri River Rendezvous?

The Missouri River Rendezvous is a gathering of Missouri River Action Teams (MoRATs), Community Organizations and people who identify as friends of the river coming together to learn and network with one another in a unique Missouri River community each year.

What is the purpose?

To initiate a larger community of Missouri River Action Teams (MoRATs) and connect groups that have similar interests.  To provide resources and information.  To showcase river-related art, education, recreation, research, stewardship and commerce.

What's happening?

  • a series of presentations by Missouri River activists, experts and river lovers.
  • shared resources and networking
  • area tours and guided hikes
  • demonstrations and activities in the park
  • campfire stories, songs, & social time

Friday night Stories & Songs

We are happy to welcome back Ozark musician and storyteller Marideth Sisco who will perform Friday night around the campfire!  Check out one of our favorite pieces that she did called "Cleansing Missouri's Waters, Sharing Stories of it'sHistory and Admiring the Moon"

Saturday night River Heroes Banquet

The Rendezvous will feature a River Heroes Banquet Saturday night, honoring one of our biggest river heroes, the great Scott Mansker!  There will be a catered dinner followed by a short River Heroes program.

Sunday Canoe Trip

Sunday features an optional 12-mile guided canoe trip on a stretch of river most of us are not all that familiar with.  (Sign-up on our online registration form by Oct. 27th is required).  $15 includes the shuttle, canoe and lunch!  We will be putting in at the Nodaway Island boat ramp (mm462.2) – paddling 12 miles through the Worthwine Island CA and taking out at the French Bottoms boat access (mm450.4)
