2010 was big and muddy!
2010 was big in a lot of ways. Big water for one thing.
Flooding throughout the basin rearranged our schedule a bit, but that didn't stop River Relief volunteers from gettin' it done.
2,115 volunteers removed 55 tons of junk from the banks of 79 miles of river!
From Yankton, SD, to St. Louis, MO, all of this trash was removed by hand, loaded into boats or trailers and finally properly disposed of or recycled. This was a project bringing together dozens of civic groups, student organizations and government agencies to get the work done.
26.5 tons of that trash was recycled or repurposed.
2011 will be our 10th anniversary. We hope you'll join us for our biggest year ever! Keep posted for details.
