Confluence Trash Bash 2011
Old Chain of Rocks Bridge & Creve Coeur Lake, St. Louis, MO
The Confluence Trash Bash has grown into one of the largest one-day clean-up events in the state. It's organized by the Confluence Partnership, the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District and a long list of local partnering organizations.
Of the many areas worked on Saturday, Missouri River Relief hosted the big river site. We took 32 volunteers by boat onto the Missouri River near its Confluence with the Mississippi at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. Working the Cora Island Unit of the Big Muddy Fish & Wildlife Refuge, in just a few hours we collected 2 boat loads of trash!
