"Blackstar" clean-up
River Refuge at Alligator Cove
The “Flood of 07” was a heartbreaking experience for our friend and crewmember John Breyfogle, owner of the beautiful River Refuge at Alligator Cove. A floatable pontoon cabin, gorgeous riverbank deck and a music stage built on a truck bed had all been destroyed by the floodwaters.
Before he could rebuild, he had to tear it all down. So he worked up a destruction plan and called in his buddies at River Relief to give him a hand.
With chop-saws, prybars, cutting torches and a lot of nail pulling, we spent all day scrapping old vehicles, outbuildings and half of his collapsed deck. We are happy to report he’s hard at work on building a new cabin, this time on stilts!
